New Entrant Children

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Westport South School.  Starting school is an exciting and very important step in your child’s life and one that needs to be positive and rewarding for all.

Our staff are experienced and committed to meeting the needs of our junior school children.  We try to plan our programmes to ensure that all children’s needs are developed, and their special attribues are valued.  We strongly believe in the importance of learning to read, write and develop numeracy skills and our programmes are designed to reinforce this learning in a variety of ways.

At Westport South School, we value the communication between home and school.  To ensure the transition from pre-school to school is a positive one, we also communicate regurlarly with our local early childhood education providers.

We welcome new enrolments for children who are turning 5.  Please contact our school office for an appointment to meet our staff and be shown around.

In the term before they start school, your child will be invited to a special ‘Picnic and Play’ where they will receive a welcome pack and schedule of transition visits.
